Sociocultural anthropologist & multimodal ethnographer

As Assistant Professor of Anthropology at Leiden University, my research centers on the politics, pedagogy, and policing of youth in Brazil and Guatemala. I recently published Art of Captivity (2020), a photo-ethnographic book on carceral art and the war on drugs. I completed my PhD in Anthropology at Princeton University in 2019, and worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Chicago in 2019-21.
